Invention

1. The children in this stage are now creating their own stories using the vocabulary and sentence patterns that they have heard.
2. This is the most independent stage of T4W.
3. The children by now will have been exposed to characters, settings, objects, connectives, adjectives, expression… all the tools for creating their own stories.
4. Some children’s inventions will be very simple, others more elaborate.
5. In FS2, this stage involves moving from telling to writing.
6. In FS1, children can create their own picture books and orally retell their stories (with more able children writing some key words).
