It's time to meet the team! In this course, you will be introduced to our Board of Directors and to our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). You will also learn more about the Founder of Jumeirah International Nurseries, Mrs. Mankani, and her wealth of experiences in the field of education.
In this course, you will gain a better understanding of the EYFS Framework and of the International Preschool Curriculum (IPC), which has been adopted for Year 1. You will also be introduced to different programmes on offer at JINS, including flexible hours and holiday programmes.
You will now be introduced to some of the documents that you must read when you start working at JINS. These include: Staff Handbook, Academic Calendar and Events Calendar. You will also be shown forms and handbooks which parents have access to, and learn about the children's staggered start at JINS ECCs.
In this short course, you will be made familiar with some important housekeeping rules, including what to do in case of absence and the protocol to be followed during mealtimes. You will also learn how to access and submit online leave forms, which are mandatory in case of absence, annual leave, missed check in and missed check out.
In this course, you will gain a better understanding of the different clusters and classrooms at JINS, as well as our 9 branches and state-of-the-arts facilities. You will also learn more about our community and parent partnerships and how JINS is an all-inclusive Early Childhood Centre (ECC).

Staff have a responsibility to promote the welfare of children and help them feel safe and secure. In this course, you will be introduced to JINS Safeguarding Policy, and learn about the role you play as a member of staff when it comes to safeguarding children. You will also be made aware of possible signs of abuse and what procedures to follow when a child arrives with an injury or displays unusual behaviour.
In this course, you will continue to learn about safeguarding with a focus on children’s privacy. You will be made familiar with JINS policies and procedures to be followed regarding taking children’s photographs within the setting, as well as the importance of confidentiality when it comes to sensitive matters.
In this course you will be introduced to manual handling. We will be discussing safety concerns, how injuries occur, and what to do in the event of an injury. You will focus on safe operations while you are on duty and important points to consider to avoid injuries. Additionally, you will be encouraged to gain a better understanding of the correct way of lifting a heavy load.
The British EYFS Framework sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well. In this course, you will be introduced to the EYFS and how it is implemented at JINS. You will also learn about the 4 guiding principles of the EYFS Framework and the non-statutory Birth to 5 Matters document, which is used at JINS.
Let's dig deep into the 7 areas of the EYFS which are used by many early years settings to shape their education programmes. In this course, you will also focus on how children’s learning and development should be supported in each one of these areas and explore topics like the importance of speaking and emotions in the early years.
At JINS, the classroom environment plays a foundational role. In line with the Reggio Emilia Approach, we believe that the environment is "the third teacher". In this course, you will focus on the importance of providing a high-quality environment for young children - both indoors and outdoors. You will also explore the concept of continuous and enhanced provision.
Children of all ages need adults to show an interest in them. Talking and listening to young children is essential to their development! In this course, we will be talking about the importance of active listening and exploring the many ways in which we can be responsive to young children.
At JINS, we take pride in our project-based learning pedagogy. In this course, you will get to see what project-based learning looks like in practice and you will learn more about the key role that children's interests play in our planning. You will also focus on the components of endless learning possibilities, which include observation and documentation.
We cannot expect children to know what we want from them without communicating it effectively and in a way that we are sure they understand. In this course, you will focus on effective behaviour management and learn about how JINS staff are expected to deal with children’s undesirable and/or challenging behaviour. Other key topics, such as the importance of positive reinforcement, will also be discussed.
Assessments are an integral part of the process of planning and delivering the curriculum. In this course, you will focus on the various ways in which we assess children at JINS and celebrate their progress and achievements. You will also learn more about how we observe children, set individual targets for them and on how children's progress will be communicated to their parents.
OSAAT is one of the Enrichment Programmes that we offer at JINS. This systematic programme identifies crucial language skills and focuses on providing ways to teach these skills. In this course, you will learn about the different stages of the programme, and how to implement it effectively. You will also focus on vocabulary lists and how to conduct the initial screening with children above the age of 3.
The Enrichment Programme, Motor Movers, is based on movements that children should do as part of Early Childhood Development and takes into account early brain development, the nervous system and retained primitive reflexes. In this course, you will learn about the different stages of the programme and how it should be conducted on a daily basis.
