2.3 Talk for Writing: How do we make it memorable?
Take a look to see if you got all these elements to make your story memorable…
- Select a story or a rhyme that the children will enjoy and like listening to again and again.
- Tell the story by engaging and encouraging the children to join in.
- Use images so they can picture what happened or what’s next.
- Reinforce key parts of the story by using actions and emphasising key language patterns.
- Help children build a bank of tales and develop their linguistic repertoire.
