1900

A 121-year-old legacy in education

  1. The Mankani family opened a school way back in 1900 in undivided India. 
  2. It was a charity school & the first all-girls school in the city where they lived.
  3. The name of the school was ‘’Kanya-paathshaala’’.​
  4. The family wanted to combine education with a sense of pride, culture, values, and ethical living in children. ​
  5. The family believed that by giving children an education combined with ‘HUMAN VALUES’, such as non-violence, love, compassion, gratitude, resilience, hope, optimism, hard work, respect, and honesty, the children would have a strong foundation to life.

1963

Dubai calls

In 1963, Mr. & Mrs. Mankani moved to Dubai where ​Mr. Mankani joined the Dubai Municipality and worked his way up to the position of Deputy Chief Engineer. ​

At the young age of 28, he was responsible for executing the early infrastructure projects in the emirate, such as, the first Dubai Airport, the Deira Clock Tower. ​

He reported on the developments to the visionary Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and father of the  Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid ​Al Maktoum.​

He was appreciated for his keen intellect, hard work, honesty, and ability to fluently speak Arabic and 5 other languages. This helped him integrate deeply into the local community.​

 

1981

The birth of Fortes Education​​

Mrs. Mankani pursued her passion in education and started a premier nursery – Jumeirah International Nursery (JINS).

 

1993

The birth of Regent International School 

To continue the premier education, the founders opened Regent International School, from Foundation Stage to Secondary. This would give children an opportunity to experience an uninterrupted education.​
